Invest in Lexington’s future by putting down roots

Spring is officially here, and with it, the year’s prime planting season.
The city’s Division of Environmental Service will be hosting several tree-planting events in late March and throughout April, including the 20th anniversary Reforest the Bluegrass event.

The public is invited to take part in these events:

Branching Out 5K Run & planting event

Saturday, March 30
Branching Out at UK
William T. Young Library (401 Hilltop Ave.)
9 a.m. – noon

Saturday, April 13
Reforest the Bluegrass
Masterson Station Park (3051 Leestown Rd.)
9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Sunday, April 14
Cane Run Greenway Planting Day
1416 Bryan Ave.
9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Sunday, April 14
Preston’s Cave Springs Planting Day
Preston’s Cave Springs (1939 Dunkirk Dr.)
1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Saturday, April 20
