Corridor Grants and Environmental Grants Available

The application process is live for the Lexington-Fayette County Corridors Commission’s Neighborhood Match Grant Program. Aimed at enhancing the local corridors leading into and out of Lexington, the program is a two-to-one grant (for every $1 requested, applicants must provide an additional $.50 match). A total of $20,000 is available, and the 31 eligible corridors include High Street, Liberty Road, Midland Avenue, Winchester Road, Nicholasville Road and others. Kentucky American Water is now accepting applications for American Water’s 2019 Environmental Grant Program awards. The awards will be available to organizations in Kentucky American Water’s service area, which includes portions of 14 counties: Bourbon, Clark, Fayette, Frankfort, Gallatin, Grant, Harrison, Jackson, Jessamine, Nicholas, Owen, Rockcastle, Scott, and Woodford.

Established by American Water in 2005, American Water’s Environmental Grant Program offers funds for innovative, community-based environmental projects that improve, restore or protect watersheds, surface water and/or groundwater supplies through partnerships. Information and application requirements can be obtained directly from Kentucky American Water’s website at www.kentuckyamwater.com.  Applications must be postmarked by March 29, 2019, and recipients will be notified by April 26, 2019.
