On Saturday, Mayor Linda Gorton will hold her second Mayor’s Neighborhood Summit to engage community members on issues affecting the city.

From 8:30 a.m.-Noon, Saturday, November 2, at the Lexington Senior Center, the Mayor’s Neighborhood Summit will focus on issues of interest to citizens, including the City’s RethinkLex initiative to improve government efficiency.

“Placemaking” will also be discussed, with an emphasis on public art, streetscapes and beautification. There will be discussion on the transformation of the Southland Drive corridor.

“Our first Mayor’s Neighborhood Summit was outstanding,” Gorton said. “We had a great crowd. I’m looking forward to the second summit on Saturday. These events are an opportunity for me to listen and learn from our citizens as we work together to make our City the best it can be.”

The Mayor’s Neighborhood Summit will provide all attendees an opportunity to engage in conversations about city government and ways to improve public spaces where we all live, work and play.

The summit is free and open to the public and will include light breakfast, thanks to community partners: Good Foods Co-Op, A Cup of Common Wealth, Magee’s Bakery and Donut Days Bakery. The Senior Center is located behind Southland Christian Church on Richmond Road.
