Dear Neighbors,

Please mark your calendars for the next meeting of the Fayette County Neighborhood Council on Monday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m.  This promises to be an interesting and informative meeting for all members:

WHO:           Presenters from  Harrods Hill Neighborhood Association, Idle Hour Neighborhood Association,  Seven Parks Neighborhood Association, Other(s)

 WHAT:         Successful Neighborhood Associations will describe what they do to be successful, will describe  their neighborhoods, and will answer questions.

WHEN:         Monday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m.

WHERE:       Tates Creek Christian Church, 3150 Tates Creek Road

This meeting will involve an exchange of ideas among neighborhood and homeowners’ associations.  How do NAs and HOAs stay viable, vibrant, and successful?  Does your association have challenges with involvement, membership, communications, programs, physical improvements, maintenance, development and zoning, and financing?  Do you want to talk about your neighborhood?  Do you want to pick up some tips to help your neighborhood be the best it can be?  Don’t miss this great meeting!

We are looking for an HOA President willing to be on our speaker’s list for this meeting.  If you are willing, please contact me at w.gaffield@gmail.com.  Even if we do not have an HOA speaker, the presentations and ideas will be helpful for HOAs.

Please keep your calendars open for Tuesday, October 2 and Saturday, October 13.  On October 2, the FCNC will co-sponsor a mayoral forum at the Downtown Main Library that will be open to the public with a separate viewing site at the Northside Library.  Neighbors may leave questions in advance for consideration at the forum at any Lexington public library.  We will notify you by email when libraries will begin receiving.  On October 13, the FCNC will host three workshops at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3564 Clays Mill Road on possible changes in the signage ordinance (and billboards), Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), and the new Elements of the 2018 Comprehensive Plan.  These changes are potentially radical and need attention if neighborhoods are to be prepared for change.
